I'm Marie, I'm glad you're here
A cycle of crash and burnout age 43 gave me the courage to step onto the path I had secretly dreamed of. Because of my hard-won experience I now support other women to do the same.
These days I live beside a loch, next to the woods, cherish walks in nature, swims in the wild and yoga. I treasure plants, mythic traditions that reveal the sacred everyday and making art. Life wasn't always this way, decades of city living, global commutes, perfectionism and striving took their toll. Years of gaslighting and misdiagnosis by the medical profession didn't help either. I made the hard choice to stop trying to please the world and put my biology first. With hindsight, I wish I'd done it years ago but as a Performance Psychologist I believed that if we can't keep up we need to find the right mindset, life hack, therapy or medication...completely ignoring the heavy individual burdens we carry.
My credentials
Because of my personal experience today I work with traditional wisdom and practices that recognise the integration of soma, psyche and spirit; predominantly Jungian Depth Psychology and mythic traditions that nurture our biology and promote natural transformation. As an impassioned educator, Chartered Psychologist (30+ years) and psychotherapist I include other approaches where appropriate, for example, Strategic Brief Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Parts Work, EFT, EMDR, Transactional Analysis and psychometrics.
As a Chartered Psychologist qualifying in 1996 I am bound by the British Psychological Society Code of Ethical Guidelines. You can read more here https://explore.bps.org.uk/content/report-guideline/bpsrep.2021.inf94

What people say

Sally Bonnie:
Director of Inspiring Futures Partnership & Inspiring Women.
Marie has this wonderful gift of making you feel you can do anything. Marie has been my yoga meditation teacher for over five years and her mantra “Sally you can do hard things” stays with me. I also commissioned some project work with Marie for various women's groups around Manchester. Her style and approach was just perfect. Our members loved learning new things to help with their wellbeing and applying them in their day-to-day routines. Marie has such an in-depth knowledgeable and a caring approach, it's evident that she wants women to thrive. She also has a wickedly light-hearted spirit that is so much needed in our world.
