This practice holds us through the day, week, season. Through times of loss, change and celebration

daily embodied practice

Each morning we have a choice...to be carried by the spin of the day or meet it on our terms. A daily devotional embodied practice weaves together our physical, mental and spiritual energies. We release tension, regulate our nervous system and support the natural balance of our neurochemicals (dopamine, serotonin, gaba, oxytocin and endorphins) shaping mood and motivation. This practice becomes our foundation. We connect with the quiet self within, the immoveable part of us at our core.

Show up exactly as you are (Pj's and hair rollers welcome).

what to expect

Daily live sessions with monthly themes and a weekly rhythm. A small, intimate community. No contract. £30 per month. For further details get in touch and i'll arrange to chat first.

.*A note on practice

Because you practise from your own home or workplace, your safety is your own responsibility. I give clear, careful instruction and I am always happy to adapt for physical or psychological needs. but I am unable to provide individual supervision via Zoom.

You will need:

  • Yoga mat

  • Yoga block or cushion to sit on

  • To drink water beforehand (drinking first thing helps with dizziness)

  • If possible do not to eat for 2 hours before (unless you require a morning snack for medical reasons - please go ahead)

  • Wear comfortable clothing and have a blanket close by for savasana

  • Unfortunately I cannot allow latecomers into the class

FAQ

I regularly go the gym and I'm fairly fit. Will this class be too easy?

  • My answer: Yoga is never easy...there is always a deeper breath, a longer balance, more internal focus or an extra millimeter to stretch. Even the most basic and straightforward class can test a world class yogi! This is the point of yoga...you are not in competition with anyone!

I have practiced with another yoga teacher, will your class be the same type of class?

  • My answer: I am fortunate to have had many teachers from many places over the years each has their own style and wisdom and with 18,000+ variations of physical asanas, differing approaches to meditation and breathwork and life experience...each teacher offers a completely unique experience.

What is Hatha yoga?

  • My answer: Hatha yoga is a physical practice for mind body and spirit. It is based on balancing tour masculine and feminine energies (nothing to do with gender - these energies have been around for thousands of years...you may know them as yin and yang).

Will yoga help me relax?

  • My answer: Yoga is about coming back home to the quiet part of you. The asanas (movement) and pranyama (breathwork) help your nervous system to release both physical and emotional tension so by the end of a well designed sequence you will feel very calm and relaxed.

I find meditation difficult?

  • My answer: Me too. I've been at it for almost 20 years and it's still tricky. I have worked with many people who were insistent they can not meditate. Now they do.

I tried a yoga class and it was full of super bendy people in fancy expensive leggings?

  • My answer: I tried those classes too. That is not yoga.

I have arthritis will this class help?

  • My answer: So do I. Hatha yoga is very much about alignment and posture. You will be asked to move a lot but in ways that work with your body. Please speak to me beforehand if you have any concerns.

Will I work my core?

  • My answer: My classes are about working your core. You will be working with your diaphram, pelvic floor, abdominals, psoas and correct posture

I'm menopausal, will these classes help?

  • My answer: Yes! IMy classes are about working with the nervous system and this helps reduce stress which helps during menopause.
